Hi, I’m Maria – Foster Coordinator, lifelong cat obsessive, and the voice behind Keeper of the Kitties 316. I’ve spent over 30 years living with, learning from, and loving cats. From bottle babies to spicy adults to hospice fosters, I’ve seen the beautiful, the ridiculous, and everything in between.
I started this blog as a way to share what I’ve learned and what I’m still learning with people who care deeply about cats but maybe don’t have all the answers. Whether you’re here because you’re fostering, grieving, asking “is this normal?”, or just want to see what chaos I’ve gotten myself into this week… welcome. You’re in the right place.
On Keeper of the Kitties 316, you’ll find:
- Foster stories, tips, and emotional truth bombs
- Behavior experiments and advice that’s worked for me
- Personal reflections on the cats who’ve shaped my life
- Product recommendations I actually use (not just affiliate filler)
- An open space to talk about grief, frustration, joy, and love because loving cats isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it
I’m not a vet and I don’t pretend to be. I don’t have letters after my name, just years of hands-on experience, a whole lot of heartbreak, and a relentless need to fix things with Google, Lysol, and blunt honesty. I’ve fostered for shelters, supported medical cases, survived ringworm outbreaks, and turned ferals into cuddle monsters. I don’t know everything, but I’m always down to share what’s worked and what absolutely didn’t.

Thanks for stopping by and scratching around my little corner of the internet. This blog is part resource, part journal, part open love letter to the cats and the people who love them. I hope it helps you feel a little more prepared, a little more understood, or at the very least, a little more cat-hair-covered.
